Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go.
Proverbs 3:5-6 TPT
I was designed with a heart for people that I am continuing to discover. In college I was torn between becoming a psychiatrist or a dentist, since my father and grandfather were both dentists. I choose dentistry but got a bachelors in psychology. Being a dentist for over 30 years has given me great opportunities for one on one connection with people. I have worked in a private dental practice, in schools with children, a local detention center and served dental clinics in the city of Pittsburgh, were I live. I have been a part of medical missions teams to more than a dozen nations, including Mexico, Haiti, Jamaica, China, Uganda and Zambia. I have had the opportunity to travel to more than 20 nations worldwide as a short-term missionary. Currently, I work in serval nursing homes and assisted living communities, bringing dental services to residents.
Dentistry can often cause great anxiety and fear for people. Pain, bad experiences, cost or not knowing who to go to, often delay treatment for people. Thankfully, with a wide variety of dental patients, I have learned techniques to bring calm, a thorough explanation of what is causing discomfort or what has broken and offer a way to restore, alleviate distress and bring improved overall health.
The desire to see wholeness and health in people in my community and around the world led me into becoming a life coach. I combine the assessments used in dental restoration to bring that to those needing soul health. I offer private coaching sessions as well as small group discussions.
